Pair Of Gilded 1800s Poplar Wood Carved Capitals originally part of a larger decorative complex. Of composite style, they have under the abacus in the volutes of the Ionic part carved flowers while in the cornzia part they have tendrils of good relief. They are gilded in fine gold on an ochre bolus preparation. In good state of preservation with minimal wear consistent with the period and with marks from the heads of the nails that attached them to the structure behind. Italy 1800.
