Rizaucourt Commune Firefighter Helmet, 19th Century.

Firefighter helmet Type 1885 called Campagnard, Third Republic. Inspired by the helmets of the Second Empire, entirely in brass, shortened crest. Bomb decorated with a front plate representing a shield stamped with a flaming grenade, surrounded by two palms with a ribbon bearing the inscription "Srs POMPIERS de Rizaucourt". Front and rear band at the base of the bomb stamped in relief with oak branches, brass chin straps each consisting of a round rosette stamped with gadroons in relief, chin strap stamped in relief with a series of scalloped scales, mounted on leather. Good general condition, with traces of use. I note a shock on the front of the crest, small dents on the bomb, without interior. Size 53 cm.
