Varnished cardboard terrestrial globe, signed, its equinoctial circle from brass, black lacquered turned wooden base H. 61 cm, Good condition. This globe is famous, was the subject of a 1990 reissue; Please consider here the original edition, in its equinoctial cradle.
Beautiful large globe, height 61cm, blackened turned wooden base, brass mount with engraved equatorial table supported by four brass quarter circles, the globe is free in its brass circle, held on poles by reinforced rings, rotating around an engraved meridian. It is a beautiful object, dated 1881, showing the political geography of this pivotal period, anchored in all-out colonialism.

Paper globe is in good general condition although with a yellowed varnish, no flaws, some small varnish gaps, or scratches easy to hide, no tears or restorations;
