"Gilt Bronze And Cloisonné Enamel Fireplace Trim, Louis XV Style, Napoleon III Period"
Superb mantelpiece set consisting of a clock and two five-light candelabras. The set is made of finely chased and gilded bronze, embellished with polychrome cloisonné enamels in shades of blue, white, and black. The clock, with its rocaille decoration characteristic of the Louis XV style, is surmounted by a putto seated beneath a leafy branch. The matching candelabras feature sinuous and elegant light arms, resting on openwork shafts decorated with cloisonné enamels. French work from the second half of the 19th century, circa 1880, emblematic of the eclectic and refined taste of the Second Empire.
