"Portrait Of St John The Evangelist On Vellum. 18th Century"

Very beautiful small medallion portrait of St John the Evangelist writing his holy texts with a quill, under a tree by the sea.
He is represented with his emblems, the eagle as well as the "pallium" (red coat).
A floral decoration surrounds the medallion.
Gouache on vellum, it is difficult to say as we have not unframed it if it is on pen stroke or on copper engraving.
Gold highlights and small metal clicks on the pallium.
Small old frame in gilded wood.
Very good condition.
