Superb silk Ghoum carpet, signed by the master weaver Erami of the imperial workshop, Iran, Shah era, circa 1960-70. More than 1 year of work with a density of approximately 10,000 to 11,000 knots per dm², testifying to an exceptional finesse. The ruby red field is decorated with polychrome palmettes surrounded by lace leaves. A large central ivory medallion, in the shape of a pendant, is inlaid with a second midnight blue and cherry medallion in the shape of a stylized diamond. The four old gold and ruby spandrels are decorated with crowns encircled by floral bulbs on a midnight blue background. The carpet has eight borders, including a main beige border, finely decorated with intertwined palmettes and floral bulbs. The signature of the master weaver Erami appears on a cartouche, certifying the prestigious origin of this piece.
