"Kachan Soof Silk Carpet, Iran, 19th Century "
Kachan Soof carpet of Iranian origin, dating from the end of the 19th century. Made of silk with silver metallic threads, it has a textured effect in relief. The background is gold in color, decorated with multi-colored floral motifs. In the center, a blue medallion is surrounded by four spandrels decorated with plant scrolls. The main border is gold and decorated with small flowers. The gold metal threads add a particular texture, and the chains are made of natural gold-colored silk.
