Bust of an elegant woman, bronze print with brown patina on marble base H 45 cm L 14 cm W 14 cm Paul Duboy French sculptor born July 8, 1830 in Tours. Student of Jean François Théodore Gechter and Jean-Jacques Elshoecht. From 1849 he attended the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris. Between 1852 and 1883, he regularly exhibited works such as busts, statues and medallions at the Paris Salon. His last work, a bronze bust of the young girl Thérèse Girard, was presented posthumously at the Salon of 1887. Some of his creations were were made in porcelain by the Royal Porcelain Manufacture of Sèvres, whose pieces are in the funds of the Baron-Martin museum in Gray.
