"Drawing Portrait Of Woman By Swedish Sculptor Herman Neujd 19/20 Eme"
Graphite drawing on paper. Portrait of a woman. Workshop stamp dimension without frame 20x19 cm with frame: 50x45cm Biography: Herman Neujd was originally an ornamental sculptor. He studied at the Technical School, the Academy of Arts (from 1898) and in Paris. His works, particularly those of small format, are distinguished by a playful grace in design and painterly forms reminiscent of Rococo. Among his works, we can note “Stina” (in the National Museum), “The Potato Harvester”, “The Picture Book” and others. In a sketch for a colossal group, “The Workers”, we detect a social trait unusual for Neujd. He is also represented at the Thielska Galleriet, the Gothenburg Museum of Fine Arts, the Kalmar Museum of Fine Arts and in Budapest.
