Object description :

"Beautiful Shepherdess Armchair “à La Reine”, Séné (attribub), Louis XVI Period, Around 1780."
Very beautiful shepherdess armchair from the Louis XVI period, in excellent condition, which can be dated around 1780, attributed to Claude II SÉNÉ, who provides the haberdashery merchants, the Court of France, the nobility or the upper bourgeoisie quality seats. “Queen-style” shepherdess with an overflowing rounded top falling onto a grooved oval on each side surmounted each time by an inverted sculpture of a pyramidal wall basket. The ornamentations which also harmoniously decorate this seat, beyond those of a more classic queen's armchair, are composed of friezes and antique geometric patterns that can be detailed: friezes of pearls around the edges, rosaries intertwined with posts, fine acanthus leaves, diced connections of large water leaves; The downward tapered legs are fluted. If the complete structure of the seat is in cream-lacquered natural wood in excellent condition, the old-fashioned upholstery, without springs, is upholstered on all sides, including the back, in a gray cream velvet of very good recent quality.
A double-sided cushion with removable cover is on the seat.
