Decorative and beautiful painting of a "Venus in the Mirror" presented in a superb large gilded wood frame with Louis XV style ears from the 19th century. This healthy canvas is Baroque style and rich in colors, details, in a learned architectural atmosphere and enriched with considerate winged cherubs. The naked Venus seen from three quarters behind is reflected in a large oval mirror supported by two cherubs; she is lying on thick fabrics with her elbow on a bolster, a canopy of dark crimson red canvas surrounded by statues protects the scene, underlined by a tiered base honeycombed with grooves on which an urn with ances completes the decor while two doves in flight twirls above an overturned dish
