Object description :

"Pair Of Oil Paintings On Canvas. E. Zampighi (modena, 1859 - 1944)"
Beautiful pair of oil paintings on canvas. Work by the well-known artist Eugenio Edoardo Zampighi.

Truly rare paintings to find on the market in terms of quality, number of characters and execution in pairs.

The paintings represent idyllic depictions of an Italian family from the second half of the nineteenth century.

Hence the titles of the paintings:

"The center of attention"

"Admiring the Child"

second half of the 19th century

Origin: Modena, Italy

Technique: oil on canvas.

Style: Verismo

Zampighi's skill consists in representing the figures as if a camera had simply captured a candid family scene.

Golden frames
Both paintings are enclosed within beautiful golden frames. Already ready to hang.

Recurring elements
The white bowl, like the cat, the vinegar cellar, the jug of water and the lit fireplace are recurring elements in almost all of Zampighi's paintings.

This pair of paintings are original works by the painter E. Zampighi (Modena, 1859 - 1944).

Their analysis using the infrared lamp reveals no obvious signs of reconstruction.

The signatures are original and contemporary with the painting.

Viewing them from the back allows us to see how they were only relined to ensure support.
