Revolver knife by MR DUMONTHIER, gunsmith and manufacturer, 19th century. Mr Dumonthier, gunsmith and manufacturer, specialized in composite weapons combining a firearm and a bladed weapon. Here this knife revolver is built on a Lefaucheux type revolver base. (see photo document book) The standard barrel has been replaced by an imposing yatagan type blade inside which the barrel is drilled. The blade is decorated with acid engravings. Blade with 1 cutting edge of 18.5 cm and counter cutting edge of 10 cm. Marking on the right side of the building, DUMONTHIER. 6-shot barrel in caliber 7 mm with pin, bearing “starred C” and “starred and crowned ELG” hallmarks. Walnut stock plate, fixed by a central transverse screw. Folding type trigger bearing the number 31 at its base. Mechanism in working order.
