Chronos Cuts Cupid's Wings flag

Object description :

"Chronos Cuts Cupid's Wings"
Ancient painting of the Italian school,
made with oil paint on canvas in the eighteenth century.
Inspired by Anthony van Dick's most famous painting,
represents the metaphor of time that cuts the wings of love.
In fact we see Chronos, father of time,
intent on cutting the wings of Cupid, god of love, with large scissors.
The cherub tries to free himself but can do nothing against his powerful arms
and his frightened face testifies to all his impotence.
Painting in good condition but requires light cleaning
and restoration on the gilding of the frame,
ancient but not contemporary with the painting.
The measurements indicated are the maximum ones including frame,
the painting alone measures 49.5 cm wide and 63 cm high
