"Early 18th Century Italian Antique Hand Carved White Carrara Marble Font"
Rare Italian antique hand carved marble font. Made of fine hand-sculpted Italian white Carrara marble. The column has a beautiful turning. The large basin has a typical Baroque decoration called bacellatura which consists of a typical process consisting in creating humps on the object. Internally, however, there is a fluted decoration. The font consists of three parts you will need some technical support when you receive it for fixing. The marble patina acquired over the centuries by many uses is truly unique. Most probably due to its large size it was used as a baptismal font.
