"Presentation To The Emperor Of The Flags Taken At Austerlitz"
Beautiful watercolor by Henri Baud depicting the presentation to the Emperor and his General Staff of the flags taken from the Austrians and the Russes during the battle of Austerlitz. This painting is teeming with very accurate uniformological details. We see dragoons, horse grenadiers, polish lancers (artist's interpretation), mounted chasseurs, hussar cuirassiers of the 4th and 7th, in very realistic attitudes. The horses are remarkably interpreted, the flags particularly well studied.
Henri Baud's signature appears at the bottom left.
Plain gold frame with brown passe-partout matching the colors of the painting.
Henri Baud: painter of the French school from the beginning of the 20th century. Depicted many military subjects.
