Orientalist painting by Paul Alexandre Alfred Leroy (Paris 1860 - 1942), depicting a young odalisque reclining on a sofa covered with oriental fabrics.

Oil on canvas, measures cm 72x98 and 94x122 with frame. Signed "Paul Leroy" lower right.

The painting is in excellent condition, on the first canvas and there are no missing parts or restorations to report.

Paul Leroy was a French painter, founding member of the Societè des Peintres Orientalistes Francais and designed the first logo of the Society which was used for correspondence, catalogs and posters of the Society promoting exhibitions and initiatives related to Orientalism.
