Oil on canvas representing the chapel of Sainte Avoye de Pluneret in Morbihan, Breton peasants in front, the cottage still existing on the left.

Signed lower left H.Vollet, this painting is located and dated on the back on the 1932 frame.

Henri VOLLET, born in 1861 in Champigny-sur-Marne, was a pupil of Fernand Cormon, a painter whose studio at Les Beaux - Arts has seen several renowned artists such as Vincent van Gogh, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, but also Lin Fengmian. Henry Emile Vollet benefited from the recognition of the artistic milieu of his time. He received for his works the honorable mention at the Salon of French Artists of 1888, as well as the bronze medal at the Universal Exhibition of 1900 and was made a Knight of the Legion of Honor in 1904. He died in 1945.
