"Aldo Tura “pipe” Lamp"
Rare and original table lamp, "Pipe" model by the famous Italian designer Aldo Tura. It is all in wood covered with ivory parchment and varnished navy blue. Period 1950-1960. Good condition, the polyphane little damaged. Electricity ok. Aldo Tura was an experimental furniture designer who was involved in the manual production of tables, cabinets and lamps since the 1930s. In 1939 he founded his own furniture workshop in Lombardy, which is now closed. Its stylistic blend of art deco and art nouveau went beyond the limits of traditional craftsmanship. The limited edition of Tura's works are of high quality, with some pieces only existing in prototype form. He used a variety of unusual materials, such as eggshells, parchment, goatskin and wood veneers. His articles are often kept in red, green and yellow, sometimes they were also equipped with bronze or brass fittings. The Brooklyn Museum in New York features some of Tura's works.
