"18th Century Parquet Clock In Walnut With Vineyard Decor"
Superb and elegant parquet clock in walnut from the 18th century. It rests on small curved feet on the front connected to each other by a molded and scalloped crosspiece. It opens with 2 doors, the 1st for access to the weights and pendulum which is nicely worked, fretted and molded allowing a glimpse of the interior through a window. The second for the movement, also scalloped and molded allowing a glimpse of the enamelled dial presented in a brass plate decorated with vineyards (vine barrels and Baccus) The whole is topped with a cornice with a molded gendarme's hat. The walnut has a superb patina, the overall cabinet work is of high quality and in perfect working order, movement completely overhauled.
