Object description :

"Very Large Granite Block Sculpture With Orthoceras Fossils"
Orthoceras is a genus of extinct cephalopods, which can be dated to between 500 and 190 million years ago (ancestors of today's squids). Their shells were covered in sediment for millions of years, which turned to stone over time. This monolith originates from Morocco and has been cut and polished during many hours of handcrafting. Unique and rare piece in this size and quality. one of the broken peaks reattached, nothing serious. A masterpiece of nature, which sublimates each piece as a decorative object. Orthoceras (orthocère in French) is an extinct genus of cephalopod molluscs. The Orthoceras lived during the Paleozoic era, from the Ordovician around 470 Ma (millions of years ago) until the end of the Permian where they disappeared during the great Permian-Triassic extinction around 252 Ma
