18th century rectangular carved oak panel depicting "the Annunciation": the angel announces to Mary that God has chosen her to give birth to Jesus. Mary is in prayer, kneeling before a crucifix; the angel Gabriel is standing in front of her and points to the dove symbolizing the Holy Spirit. This bas-relief is interesting both for its subject and for its very touching realization in high relief. It is in good condition apart from an inconsequential vertical split starting from Marie's right arm. On the other hand, it is necessary to note gaps at the 4 corners of the panel but this does not in any way interfere with the reading of the scene which is in good condition.
