Legras Vase Model Lamartine, Decor With Enamelled Anemones On Satin Glass, Circa 1900

Sublime soliflore vase with periwinkle blue satin background and enameled decoration of anemones delicately hand-painted and enhanced with gold. Very nice work of high quality from the beginning of the 20th century, from the Verreries et Cristalleries Legras of Saint-Denis. Model unsigned but listed and authenticated in the famous LEGRAS catalog "French popular artistic glassware" on page 292. One of the flower buds dies, another has just opened, another is in full bloom, a metaphor for the different stages of life.
