Vintage Murano Lamp, Space Age Design, In The Style Of Carlo Nason For Mazzega

Ambiance lamp with a flying saucer look, iconic of the Space Age Design of the 50's.
In the taste of Carlo Nason for the Mazzega glass factory in Murano.
The circular base is made of chromed metal and smoked glass (small scratch on the glass).
The base of the lamp is in red-orange lacquered metal, punctuated with 3 series of 5 perforations to dissipate heat. It rests on the base through 3 small spherical chrome feet.
The globe is made of Murano blown glass, mushroom-shaped with white shaded effect. Presence of 3 small holes on the bottom of the globe also allowing the evacuation of heat. To note some small chips on the lower edge of the globe resting on the metal base, invisible when the globe is in place.
The Space Age is an aesthetic and radical movement that emerged in the early 1950s. It marked a real turning point in the world of design thanks to its utopian futuristic style marked by the conquest of space and the influence of atomic science in the aftermath of the Second World War.
