Bright regency style cartel, from the Napoleon III period. Well proportioned and of very good quality, architecture covered with a Boulle marquetry composed of tortoiseshell and gilded brass. Finely chiseled gilt bronze ornamentation decorated with caryatids and a rare allegory of justice on the facade. Front door opening with a key, the interior is animated by a sun pendulum, visible from its glazed parts on a marquetry background. Chased bronze dial set with twelve enamelled cartouches.Original mechanism without modification. Ringing of the hours and half hours on an old bell.
The cartel has been refurbished according to the rules of the art. The marquetry has benefited from a professional buffer varnish providing: protection, contrast and luminosity.
