Dressed in trousers held up by a strap across his chest, the shirt buttoned up to the collar and wearing a cap, the kid, the cigarette in his mouth or... the licorice stick in his mouth, his hands in his pockets sports a debonair look in the purest tradition of Victor Hugo's Gavroche. Francisque Poulbot, cartoonist illustrator contemporary with Georges Maxim, also took hold of this colorful little character who reminds us of the song by Yves Montand (1951)…
