Attributed to Pierre-Adrien PARIS (1745-1819) "Animated view of an Italian park" Black chalk on ivory paper, Laid down in full on original mount from the end of the 18th century. Recent frame with original late 18th century frame. Dimensions with frame: H.50cm x L.65cm Nice view of a park near Rome visited by artists from the Académie de France at that time, attributable to Pâris who frequented Hubert Robert, Fragonard and others on the same sites to practice the technique of drawing. A similar view in sanguine given to Fragonard with slight variations in the figures can be found in the collections of the Musée de Quimper, of which we reproduce an image below.
