"Naked Man Curving A Tree Branch, By Armand Bardery"
Wooden sculpture of a naked man bending a tree branch. Signed A. Bardery on the base, circa 1910. 
Very good general condition, however note a lack on the top of the branch (about 1 cm).
Louis-Armand Bardery born in 1879 in Neuilly-sur-Marne and died in 1952 is a French sculptor.
After training with Injalbert and Charles Vital-Cornu, Bardery obtained an honorable mention for a plaster statue entitled Première désillusion and presented in 1905 at the Paris Salon. Bardery also received the third medal of the Paris Salon in 1907, then the second medal in 1911 and finally the gold medal in 1913.
Bardery was an assiduous member of the Salon of French artists. During his career, he produced figures and busts, such as: La Famille, la Guerre, Rêverie, Lincoln, Corot, Villon, etc. He also executed the monuments to the dead of 14-18 of the communes of Neuilly-Plaisance, Mauriac and Saint-Flour.
His composition entitled La Famille adorns the courtyard of the Lycée Sophie Germain in Paris.
