Hereke rugs are rugs produced only in Hereke, a coastal city in Turkey, 60 kilometers from Istanbul. The city of Hereke is world famous for the finest silk carpets in the world. The materials used for their manufacture are silk and sometimes gold or silver threads.
This model is remarkable for its finesse, its bright colors and its so-called "Mihrab" pattern.

Uneven fringes of different lengths on each side: 12 cm on one side and 9 cm on the other side
Condition : Minor wear to the silk throughout the rug. Irregular fringe length.
Traces of blue dripping in the kilim on both sides visible in the photos.
