"English Table Clock "
English table clock "Bracket Clock", early 19th century.

Beautiful antique clock from the early 19th century, from the George III period. Large annular dial signed "Mettril & Stoddarts - London" with Roman numerals for the hours, indicating the date by a third hand. Hour and minute hands in chased and gilded brass. The front door opening and allowing time setting and winding, as well as advance/delay adjustment and whether or not to stop the chime; the lock with its functional key. The typically English weekly winding mechanism with its engraved rear plate and its fusee/chain system for the two gear trains. A device also allows the blocking of the pendulum during the movement of the clock. The mahogany cabinet, on both sides of the gilded and openwork grids lined with fabrics. At the top, a handle allowing the easy movement of the clock and at the back a glass door opening on the mechanism.
