Original model or first type.
Octagonal barrel in ribbon with forty-eight stripes, rod of iron whose head formed by a ring is out of brass, punched "D".
Tailstock ending in a point, small "trade" size chimney.
The lock is signed Manufacture Royale de Châtellerault and "D", monogrammed on the reverse.
Strongly sloping stock, finely checkered grip.
The cap is made of case-hardened iron, fixed by two screws with a ring.

Very good mechanical performance.
