Французский художник ‘’Les bords de l’Azergues’’ huile sur toile signé Joseph Million, size 19 ¼ x 25 ¼ inches Joseph Marie Millon (4 December 1861 – 10 November 1930 in Lyon) was a French painter in the Naturalistic style. Joseph Millon was originally admitted to the École nationale des beaux-arts de Lyon in 1879, October 21st. Beginning in 1886, Joseph Millon exhibited successfully and constantly at the annual Salon in Lyon. His early landscape ‘’Un soir de Septembre, souvenir du Bugey’’ (which is signed J. Million) Joseph Marie Millon paintings are masterful renditions of luminous landscapes. He particularly enjoyed portraying riverscapes and landscape scenes of the countryside surrounding Lyon. On painting expeditions throughout his native region, Millon devoted himself to capturing the characteristic landscape of the Sâone river valley.
